The 101st Airborne Division, known as the "Screaming Eagles," is famous for its roles in key World War II operations like Overlord, Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. They're highlighted in the TV series "Band of Brothers." In Normandy, before D-Day, they aimed to hinder German forces and seize strategic points. Despite challenges like being spread out and facing strong German defense, they mostly achieved their goals. They notably stood strong in the Siege of Bastogne, resisting a larger German force until help came.
